Moscow Moscow is not only the capital and most populous city of Russia, but is also one of the most important travel, economic, cultural, and political centers in the entire world. Though the sights are beautiful and the streets are packed, that doesn't keep it from being what it is--a massive urban area, and with the current economic situation, the heavy amount of crime makes it a dangerous place to be. Leningrad Also known as 'the city of Tsars', Leningrad is one of the most important historic places in all of Russia. Towering monuments and cultural buildings stand above the slums. Since its infamous siege during WWII, it has rebounded and become the second largest city to Moscow, as well as a major European cultural center and an important Russian port on the Baltic Sea. Siberia - 1 Viewing True to the term "wasteland," Siberia is a vast expanse of nothingness that encompasses nearly the entire north section of the Asian Continent. Being mostly an empty and desolate place, the cities in Siberia are few and far between, with no roads connecting them and only the Trans-Siberian Express to take them elsewhere. Mostly populated with Russians and Ukrainians. Moderators: Admin, Mykolas Mielkus |

Vilnius Vilnius is the capital city of Lithuania, a sprawling cosmopolitan located in the southwest region at the confluence of the Vilnia and Neris rivers. Its architecture is a mix of classic Lithuanian and a mish-mash of buildings from other cultures, including Roman, Greek, and Russian. Though it has unusually low crime rates for a city its size, many of the Lithuanian organized criminal groups make Vilnius their headquarters. Kaunas Located in the exact center of Lithuania, Kaunas sits at the confluence of the country's two biggest rivers--the Nemunas and the Neris--and is near the Kaunas Reservoir, the largest body of water in all of Lithuania. Highways connect it to every other major city and seaport. Despite being only the second biggest city, Kaunas's economy makes it the most lucrative place in the country. Klaipėda - 1 Viewing Klaipėda, the third largest city in Lithuania, is situated at the mouth of the Curonian Lagoon where it flows into the Baltic Sea. Although it's only the third largest in a small country, Klaipėda's significance is more than partially due to the strategic regional importance of the Port of Klaipėda, a usually ice-free port on the Baltic Sea. It is also one of the more scenic areas in the already-beautiful countryside of Lithuania. Moderators: Admin, Mykolas Mielkus |

West Berlin West Berlin consists of the American, British, and French occupation sectors, which had been established post-war in 1945. It's closely politically affiliated with West Germany, although it has a special status due to administration formally conducted by the Allies. West Berlin isn't quite as safe to walk alone in as its Eastern counterpart, but the protection of Allied military has created a peculiar sort of pseudo-police state over the city. Munich - 1 Viewing Much more laid-back than its two demographic superiors, Berlin and Hamburg, Munich's motto is "München mag Dich"--literally, "Munich Likes You." It lies on the elevated plains of Upper Bavaria, about 50 km north of the northern edge of the Alps, making it a very rainy city (and, by consequence, a very green one). Despite being the third largest city in Germany, it looks and behaves more like a quiet countryside hamlet. Moderators: Admin, Mykolas Mielkus |

Hamburg - 1 Viewing One of the most affluent locations in all of Europe, Hamburg is a major media and industrial center located directly between Continental Europe to its south, Scandinavia to its north, the North Sea to its west, and the Baltic Sea to its east. Given its mostly working-class makeup, crime in the city tends to pay more often than it doesn't. Moderators: Admin, Mykolas Mielkus |

East Berlin The Soviet-controlled side of Berlin, separated more or less down the middle by the infamous Berlin Wall. Despite its status as part of an occupied city, East Berlin is claimed as the capital of East Germany, as the Soviets have not honored the distinction of a free city for their sector. Despite its poor economic status and issues of tension between the Soviet leaders and German inhabitants, there are many beautiful parks and the streets are relatively safe. Leipzig - 1 Viewing The largest city in the federal state of Saxony, Germany, Leipzig is a major urban center within the Communist German Democratic Republic. It's known for being an especially beautiful city and rich in high education, though not entirely the most affordable to live in. Most who come to visit tend to find Leipzig a kind, peaceful place to rest in... or run away to. Moderators: Admin, Mykolas Mielkus |

Dresden After being left in nothing but ruins by Allied bombs, the face of Dresden has considerably changed. The Soviets have done a significant amount of urban re-development and rebuilding in the inner parts of the city. Dresden lies on both banks of the river Elbe, mostly in the Dresden Basin, with a pleasant location and a mild climate as well as Baroque-style architecture and numerous art collections. Warsaw Warsaw is the capital and largest city of Poland. Warsaw is also known as the "phoenix city", as it recovered from extensive damage during World War II (during which 80% of its buildings were destroyed), being rebuilt with the effort of Polish citizens. Warszawianka is widely considered the unofficial anthem of Warsaw. Moderators: Admin, Mykolas Mielkus Sub-board: Czterech Pokladach |

Kraków Kraków is the second largest and one of the oldest cities in Poland, as rich (if not more) in culture and history as it is in economy. It lies in the southern part of Poland, on the Vistula River, in a valley at the foot of the Carpathian Mountains. Kraków is divided into 18 administrative "boroughs" or districts, each with a degree of autonomy within its own municipal government. Moderators: Admin, Mykolas Mielkus |

Gdańsk Gdańsk is Poland's principal seaport on the southern edge of the Baltic Sea. A convenient location connects it to a branch in the delta of the nearby Vistula River, whose waterway system supplies 60% of the area of Poland and connects Gdańsk to the capital in Warsaw. This gives the city a unique advantage as the center of Poland's sea trade. A lot of things come and go through Gdańsk--thus making it a highly important place for smugglers and traders to get goods from overseas. Moderators: Admin, Mykolas Mielkus |

France - 1 Viewing France, officially the French Republic is a state in Western Europe with several overseas territories and islands located on other continents and in the Indian, Pacific, and Atlantic oceans. Metropolitan France extends from the Mediterranean Sea to the English Channel and the North Sea, and from the Rhine to the Atlantic Ocean. It is often referred to as L’Hexagone ("The Hexagon") because of the geometric shape of its territory. Moderators: Admin, Mykolas Mielkus |

Italy Italy, officially the Italian Republic, is a country located partly on the European Continent and partly on the Italian Peninsula in Southern Europe and on the two largest islands in the Mediterranean Sea, Sicily and Sardinia. Italy shares its northern, Alpine boundary with France, Switzerland, Austria and Slovenia. The independent states of San Marino and the Vatican City are enclaves within the Italian Peninsula, and Campione d'Italia is an Italian exclave in Switzerland. Moderators: Admin, Mykolas Mielkus |

Japan Japan, officially the State of Japan, is an island nation in East Asia. Located in the Pacific Ocean, it lies to the east of the Sea of Japan, China, North Korea, South Korea and Russia, stretching from the Sea of Okhotsk in the north to the East China Sea and Taiwan in the south. The characters that make up Japan's name mean "sun-origin" (because it lies to the East of nearby countries), which is why Japan is sometimes referred to as the "Land of the Rising Sun".
